It\u2019s hard to know where to even start after such a catastrophic evening. We looked to be heading for a comfortable win at Molineux after going 2-0 up but for reasons that are unclear to all, we imploded on ourselves and surrendered a 2-0 lead to one of the worst sides in English league history. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I will not recount every detail of the game as no one wants to relive it ever again, but we scored two well worked goals by Saka and Piero Hincapie. It was disappointing to concede so soon after going two up. Wolves were completely dead and buried at that point. But you would\u2019ve hoped for some sort of control and game management. What followed was a complete mess. Giving the ball away, allowing Wolves acres of space, it was bizarre and totally out of character by our recent standards. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The equaliser was abysmal on so many counts. There was a complete breakdown in communication between Gabriel and Raya. Personally, and not that it makes the slightest bit of difference, but I think Gabriel was more at fault than Raya. If the Brazilian doesn\u2019t get in the way that\u2019s a simple catch and hold for Raya. It was a nothing cross and there was no Wolves player anywhere near getting on the end of it. Of course, Raya could\u2019ve have told Gabriel to leave it and maybe he did, but you have to ask what on earth Gabriel was thinking. The ball squirmed out to the Wolves player, and it went in off the post and Calafiori in horrifying slow motion. There was barely time to react. Two points dropped without any shadow of a doubt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, where does this leave our title hopes? We are five points clear having played a game more than City. We have 11 to go, they have 12. We do of course still have to go to the Etihad in April. There is still time to pick ourselves back up but that\u2019s now two wins in seven and that is a deeply concerning run of form. We have Spurs and Chelsea coming up and we can no longer afford to take anything for granted. We have made this title race so much harder than it needed to be. For what it\u2019s worth, I still think we will get over the line but only just. These next two games are of paramount importance. I don\u2019t like to make sweeping statements based off one game, but I do think whoever wins the League Cup final at Wembley next month will probably win the league. maybe some will scoff at that but the psychological boost of getting one over on City with two months of the season left would be gargantuan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I do think City will drop a similar number of points as us. Of course, they do have previous when it comes to going on long winning runs at this stage of the season, but they are not what they were. The maximum points total we can finish on is 91 and its 89 for City. That all but confirms in will not be required to reach 90 points to win the title. I think it will be more like 85ish which was the standard amount from 2006-2016. The destination of this title is now very difficult to predict but we probably need around 28-29 points to win it. But who knows for certain? Not me, that\u2019s for sure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are now entering the final 10 games of the season. Time to stand up now. Sunday will tell us a lot about the mentality of this team. If you can\u2019t get yourself up for the Derby, when will you get up? Then it\u2019s Chelsea. Time to wake up now.
